I guess you are someone who likes to make money online to either support your income or to be completely independant, meaning that you want to completely replace your everyday job with your own business.

Ideally, you want to make a steady, recurring, passive income with having to put as little an effort as possible into achieving your goal.

So, after looking into many different ways of making money you find the option of internet marketing as very promissing.

And yes, it is true that internet marketing is a great way to make money. It is not only a fast but also a cheap and popular way to either make an extra income or to completely replace your current job. The internet gives you the best reach of any business.. you reach customers all over the world, and your business is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

And there is another advantage to an internet business.. automation. Once you have a website set up, with your offers, a shopping cart, a way to build your customer list, etc. you just have to do some maintenance once in a while but the effort to keep it profitable will be rather small.

So why is not everyone doing some kind of online business if it is such a great way to make money? Well, a lot of people still think that it is complicated and requires a good deal of knowledge about programming to set up a website.

Let me tell you that this is simply not true.

You don't need to know anything about programming, how to create a website, how to create a product.

What you can do to make money online is called "Affiliate Marketing".

All you do as an Affiliate Marketer is to look for a product which is already successful on the market, then you set up your own simple website to refer people to that product, and if people buy through your website with your affiliate link you get a percentage of the sales that were made through your website.

Lets say you set up a website for Harry Potter books. You would then sign up at Amazon.com as an affiliate and send customers through your webpage and affiliate link to the Amazon offer and for every book sold you will get a percentage of the purchase.

You can see now that the more people you send through your affilate link, the more money you make.

Affiliate Marketing is an ideal business for many people because there is no need to create any products. There is no office to go to and you don't have to support the product you're selling. This is a business where you can make money from the comfort of your home and you decide what amount of time you want to spend on it and when.

There are just a few requirements to make money as an affiliate:

1.  You need a computer with an internet connection

This is the tool you absolutely need for this business. Well, this is just common sense, right? You need to access the internet and you need to save data (e.g. graphics for your website, articles you want to post, the text for your ads, etc.).

2.  You need a Website

You probably heard lots of times that you don't need a website to make money online. It is definitely true that you can make some sales without having a website but you will have to deal with a lot of downsides: You will not be able to establish yourself as an authorithy, you will not be able to create a list of customers (I guess you have heard the phrase: "The Money Is In The List"), you basically have nothing your customers can come back to.. your website is your home (real estate) on the web.

A great affiliate website provides the customer or any other visitor with valuable content. If you can provide that content then the traffic to your site will increase and thus will you page rank in the search engines, and your sales.

3.  You need products to promote

There are literally millions of products or services to promote so you will have to do some research on what products are profitable. And you need to be sure that those products are of good quality. Nothing hurts your business more than promoting a bad product.. it will give your customers a bad impression on you and it might even lead to your website being banned from Google or completly shut down by your hosting company for violation of their terms (if the product is a scam).

If you find a product that people want to buy then you need to promote it as much as possible using the many options you have on the internet. This can be social marketing, email marketing, article marketing, and more. But if the product is not making money, then don't stick too long with it. Get rid of it and find a new one.

4.  You need Traffic to your Website

If nobody knows your website nobody will visit it and therefore you will not sell a thing. Even if your website is the most beautiful in the world it won't help you. You need to create traffic to your website.

Getting people to visit your website is not really difficult. There are many options you can choose from and usually it is the best to use a combination of those methods.

A very fast method is to buy advertising (PPC, Facebook Ads, etc.) but it can be very expensive.  This ads will show up on search engines and other websites and lead people to your site.

If you don't want to buy advertising you can drive traffic through link exchanges, article marketing, etc. Optimizing your website will also increase your chance to be ranked higher in the search engines and therefore drive more traffic to your site. This is called Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

When you implement all of these methods, then you should be able to make money online easily. It does take some effort but it is possible to replace an ordinary day-to-day job.
